The municipality of Camargo may be an ideal starting point to begin a tour throughout Cantabria. The main reason for that is its strategic location, since it is close to the capital city and to the main communication facilities, such as the airport, the port, the railway lines and the motorways.
Camargo is also one of the crossing points in the Way of Saint James towards Compostela, characterised by its religious buildings as well as by its civil architecture.
Besides, this setting provides the opportunity to enjoy nature in locations such as Punta Parayas and the Marina, as well as other natural sites of great value, such as its marshlands and wetlands.
Visitors to Camargo may enjoy the festivals of San Juan, which are held in June, or the traditional celebration of El Carmen in July. Other events of great cultural value for visitors of all ages, include the Summer Festival and the International Circus Festival (CIRCAM).
