More into inner Cantabria, between River Ebro and the Cantabrian Mountains, there is a world of opportunities for the visitor looking forward to getting the most out of the nature and heritage treasures to be found in this territory. We can assure here that both the destination and the journey are equally worth the visit. The municipalities of Campoo de Yuso, part of the Campoo-Los Vallesregion, and the other 10 localities integrated in it (Campoo de Enmedio, Hermandad de Campoo de Suso, Las Rozas de Valdearroyo, Pesquera. Reinosa, San Miguel de Aguayo, Santiurde de Reinosa, Valdeolea, Valdeprado del Río y Valderredible) provide abundant proof of it.

Each and every locality in this region has its charms, so it comes convenient to plan your visit in advance so you do not miss anything. However, there are some must-see ones, such asthe cave churches and the Collegiate Church of San Martin de Elines (Valderredible); or walking about Julióbriga, in Retortillo, the most important Roman city out of the 9 that were founded in Cantabria.

The whole area, and mainly Campoo de Yuso, is also paradise for those who take pleasure in exceptionally beautiful routes and for ornithologists and bird watchers, for great gatherings of aquatic birds take place at River Ebro Reservoir during migrations and winter. There are piers to moor boats and areas to sail and swim; you also have the chance to take a boat excursion and practise some water sports such as kayaking and kitesurf.
