Northern Spain has a deserved reputation for the quality of the products offered in the hospitality and restaurant businesses in Cantabria. Our gastronomy is one of the best not only at a national scale, but at an international as well; an evident attractive for tourists and an incentive to accompany the visit to the beaches or the indubitable cultural areas Cantabria keeps.

Fresh fish, exquisite meat and cheeses, pastry-making and baking such as  ‘sobaos’ and ‘quesadas’, unique spirits, signature dishes and gastronomic specialities, amongst other delicacies from land and sea, all are part of what Cantabrian restaurants offer. There are plenty, of course, but amongst the must-know ones are: in Santander, El Indiano, located inside the ‘Mercado del Este’ (‘Eastern Market’); Mesón Goya, just a few yards from the previous one, in Daoiz y Velarde Street; and Balneario de la Concha, with direct access to the beach; outside the capital city of Cantabria, but very near, Calma Chicha restaurant, in Marina de Santander, in Raos; and in Santillana del Mar, Palacio Mijares.
